Round 2, Pick 50: S Jeremy Cash, Duke, 6’1 210 lbs

Cash can be a solid upgrade at strong safety as strong safety William Moore is quite possibly a cap casualty. What Cash brings is a physical presence at the strong safety position and sharp instincts/read & react skills. Cash is also a sure tackler with consistent production at Duke (332 total tackles in three full seasons). Cash also brings an NFL size frame as well as an underrated football IQ.

The safety does have some flaws as every other player. He has the ability to provide adequate coverage in short and intermediate routes but don’t expect him to be a ball-hawk. In Quinn’s defense, that may not be required from Cash as DQ can let his SS roam and tackle everything that moves.

Other names to consider: WR Tyler Boyd, SS Jayron Kearse, DE Jonathan Bullard, LB Kentrell Brothers
