Devin Hester has been in an Atlanta Falcons uniform for two seasons now but we have only gotten one good year out of him. Hester had a terrific 2014 season which included breaking Deion Sanders’ all-time return touchdown record. However, in 2015 Hester missed most of the season with a turf toe injury and wasn’t the same player once he returned.

Hester’s cap hit sits at 3.8 million so it might be a good idea to part ways with the 33-year-old veteran and let one of the younger players return kicks in 2015 for a much cheaper overall price. Another player like Hester that could get cut as well is Eric Weems who returned kicks for most of the season while Hester was out with injury.

Cutting Hester really doesn’t affect the Falcons moving forward in any way. He didn’t catch a single pass in 2015 and was almost a wasted roster position. We will never forget Hester breaking Sander’s record against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it may be time to part ways.
