Not a whole lot of people are all that familiar with the play of Miami Dolphins’ defensive end Oliver Vernon but that doesn’t mean the Atlanta Falcons should pursue him as hard as anyone.

Vernon accounted for 7.5 sacks in 2015 and has played in all 16 games in each of his four NFL seasons. Vernon has had the task of lining up on the opposite side of defensive end Cameron Wake and has done a terrific job as a complementary pass rusher.

A duo of Vernon and Vic Beasley may be a better combination than you may thing and would sound great in my eyes and the fans would love it too once they realize just how good this guy is. It’s going to come down to whether or not Dan Quinn and Thomas Demitroff want to sign a proven defensive end or draft another one in the first two rounds. The Falcons went with Beasley last year so maybe the best route would be to sign one and address someone else in the draft.
