                                                     Will the Falcons release Roddy?

Honestly, I hate talking about the Roddy situation because I feel that the media uses it for attention. Still, it is a pressing issue that leaves both fans and analysts clueless. Roddy’s cap against the team this season comes up to $5,587,500 and if the team decides to keep Roddy for next season then that number would grow to $6,137,500.

We could argue that Roddy’s production doesn’t match his pay, which may be true, but do the team feels that having him on the roster benefits not only the coaches but the team as whole.

The Falcons released vocal team leader, William Moore, so the “team leader” factor doesn’t apply regardless of how you put it. Roddy is the greatest receiver in franchise history but the league has a “What can you do for me now” motto and it seems that Roddy is on his last leg.

Whether Roddy gets released or stays, he deserves the respect that he deserves for being one the team’s greatest players. I don’t think there isn’t much that Roddy can offer to a team right now on the field but his impact to his teammates and the fans will last for a long time to come especially if he’s wearing red and black next season.
