Devin Hester has been with the Atlanta Falcons for two years, but missed the majority of the 2015 season with a foot injury. 2014 was awesome for Hester. He broke Deion Sanders’ return record with him and myself in attendance and was effective on offense as well.

However, in 2015 his season was finished before it ever started and for that reason, it’s time to part ways. Hester is in the very same boat as Eric Weems. He isn’t the same in the return game as he once was and he isn’t going to contribute whatsoever on offense.

There are two wide receivers on the Falcons’ roster who didn’t contribute in the receiving game in 2015. that’s a problem when your receiving corps is already below average. It’s always good to have a player who is deadly in the return game, but it’s even more important to have an effective player on offense and Hester nor Weems is going to be that guy.
