Atlanta Falcons: four wide receivers to watch at combine
Sterling Shepard – Oklahoma
Sterling Shepard is the No. 10 ranked wide receiver according to CBS sports and is currently projected to be drafted in rounds No. 2 or 3. Shepard is another guy with good attributes. He’s only 5-10, but makes up for that with his solid frame of 194 pounds and his large hand size. Shepard’s hands measured in at 9 3/4 which is one of the largest in this years’ draft.
Shepard is one of the best route-running receivers in this years’ draft and it all starts with his lightning quick feet. He’s an extremely hard receiver to cover over the top and can beat defenses in the worst ways. Not only is he a very solid receiver, but he also has experience as a punt returner and could be the future returner for the Atlanta Falcons.
Shepard has drawn comparisons to Randall Cobb, Tyler Lockett and Antonio Brown. All three very good receivers and to have his name thrown into the mix with them is very high praise. He’s arguably the best route-runner in the draft and should be very high on the Falcons’ board.
