$4 million

Like him or not, the Atlanta Falcons have already been linked to this 26-year-old wide receiver per Vaughn Mcclure and at a projected $4 million base salary per season, that’s well worth the money.

Sanu is never going to be a 1,000-yard season guy, but he would never be asked to put up numbers like that in Atlanta. His sole job will be to complement Julio Jones and take roughly 60-70 receptions away from Jones to keep his workload down.

Another wide receiver that would be a nice addition to the Falcons’ roster would be Travis Benjamin formerly of the Cleveland Browns but no ties have been made to the Dirty Birds as of yet. While myself included would prefer Benjamin, it’s always important to look at players that the team has already been linked to and Sanu is one of them.

The main thing you as fans need to remember is this. Whoever the Falcons bring in won’t be asked to be pro bowl caliber player. They will be asked to be a 2013 Roddy White. A player that can make big plays when needed, but isn’t going to be the Falcons’ first option.

It’s also hard to get the image out of my head of Sanu scoring a 76-yard touchdown on the Falcons in 2014.
