10 free agents that the Atlanta Falcons are targeting
James Laurinaitis, ILB
James Laurinaitis was let go by the Los Angeles Rams a couple of weeks ago and is the first player that the Atlanta Falcons are bringing in for a formal sit-down. That interview will take place sometime today and the likelihood of him becoming the newest member of the Falcons is rather high.
Laurinaitis already met with the New Orleans Saints last week so you already know the Falcons will be fist first pick. winky face. Laurinaitis isn’t a pro bowl caliber middle linebacker. Is he better than Worrilow? Probably, but is he going to bring all that much more to the table? Probably not.
The Falcons tendered 3-year starting ILB Paul Worrilow yesterday and if another team makes him an offer, you can kiss him goodbye. Signing Laurinaitis to an average deal wouldn’t be the worst move ever. He is 29 years old and racked up 109 tackles a season ago and has put up that many in all seven years of his career.
This is definitely something you need to pay close attention too over the next couple of days.
