Danny Trevathan is the best available inside linebacker in this years’ free agency class and expected to make a lot of money with whomever he signs with. While there have been no formal links to the Atlanta Falcons, Trevathan has been picked as a good fit in Atlanta and for that he makes the list.

Trevathan also has a tied to Atlanta through Falcons’ defensive coordinator Richard Smith. Smith was Trevathan’s linebackers coach with the Denver Broncos and at the time was a very respected coach. Super Bowl MVP Von Miller praised Smith for helping him become the player that he is today.

It appears that The Chicago Bears are the front-runner to sign Trevathan likely due to John Fox being their head coach. While that’s a viable option, Trevathan should sign with a team on the verge of making a deep playoff run like the Falcons.
