The Atlanta Falcons’ second-round pick is going to be just as important as their first-round pick. It’s arguably going to be more important and here’s why.

the Falcons are going to take the best available player with their first-round pick much of like what they did a season ago when they drafted Vic Beasley. Atlanta could go in a number of different ways but the top three options are evident. They will either use their first pick on a defensive end, an outside linebacker or an inside linebacker barring anything crazy from now until the draft.

They have obvious needs at all three of those positions and whoever is the best player remaining at pick 17 will likely be the choice. However, if they don’t really like what they see there is a decent chance that they trade down and stockpile more picks. The Falcons have the leagues’ fewest draft picks this year with just five so picking up more picks would be a huge plus.

In my opinion, the Falcons are going to need whoever they draft in the second round to be on the field quite a bit as a rookie. There’s a good chance that whoever that may be will be their full-time starter so the Falcons really need to hit a home run on their second-round pick .

Here are five potential options that the Falcons could draft.
