2) Matt Ryan – QB

We cannot say enough about what Matt Ryan has meant to the Atlanta Falcons’ franchise for the past eight years. Ryan was drafted with the third overall pick in the 2008 draft when the franchise was about to collapse and completely turned things around in just one season.

Ryan has taken the Falcons to the playoffs in his rookie season as well as 2010, 2011 and 2012. The Falcons very narrowly missed a super bowl berth in the 2012 season and in his eight-year career, Ryan surpassed everyone with the most passing yards in Falcons’ history with 32,757. He also leads all Falcons’ quarterbacks in touchdowns with 202.

Sure, the Falcons have missed the playoffs in three consecutive seasons but most of it was not Ryan’s fault. the roster around him fell apart and left him with a weak offensive line and no defense to back him up. But none of that takes away from how good he has been.

When you’re looking down on Ryan, think about teams such as the Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers. Those teams have no identity at the quarterback position and in no way shape or form have a quarterback anywhere near as good as Ryan.

Be thankful for what you have while you have it because Ryan won’t be around forever.
