6) Jake Matthews – LT

Drafting an offensive lineman in the top 10 is a pretty big gamble these days but it appears that the Atlanta Falcons hit a home run when they drafted Jake Matthews with the sixth overall pick in the 2014 draft.

Matthews has been rock solid in his two-year career despite dealing with a nagging foot injury in his rookie campaign and has more than proved his worth as one of the top 10 best players on the team. Matthews allowed just one sack in 2015 while playing left tackle and has yet to play his best football.

Matthews has an extremely good bloodline. His father played in the NFL and his cousin is Green Bay Packers’ superstar Clay Matthews so you had to know his chances of succeeding at the next level were pretty high. Matthews isn’t quite good enough to crack the top five but he’s right there on the cusp. Let’s see if he can make the leap to the 2017 pro bowl with another solid year.
