Atlanta Falcons: Reasons For Optimism in 2016
Reason 1: Julio Jones
What a way to start.
The dynamic Jones topped a 2014 season in which he totaled 104 receptions, 1,593 yards, and six scores with a record-setting 2015 season with 136 catches 1,871 yards, and eight scores. Jones got off to a hot start with dominating games against Philadelphia, New York Giants and Dallas as well as capped the season with stellar games against Jacksonville, Carolina, and New Orleans.
Arguably, Jones saved his best game of the season for the division rival Panthers in which he reeled in 9 catches for 178 yards, one touchdown, and an epic play against one of the best players in the league:
Some are still on the ropes in the debate of Julio being the best receiver in the league and that’s ok. What can’t be debated is how elite Julio really is. At 6’3, 220 pounds and only 27 years old, having a player like Julio keeps Atlanta in the equation. It is equivalent to Carolina having Cam, Houston having Watt, Green Bay having Rodgers. Seeing #11 trot on the field provides the Falcons offense it’s boost of top-of-the-line play making talent.
