Atlanta Falcons: 7-round mock draft 2.0
Third Round – Pick 89 *From Pittsburgh* – Charles Tapper – DE
When a team such as the Atlanta Falcons have struggled so much to rush the passer in the past three years, you can never have enough pass rushers so why not add a guy like Oklahoma’s Charles Tapper. Tapper is a is a 6-foot-3, 273-pound defensive end who ran a terrific 4.59 40-yard dash at the combine.
This would be a project for the Falcons. He needs to improve against the run and he has the potential to be a solid role player such as current DE Adrian Clayborn. We spoke with Eric Robinson again on what he thinks about Tapper.
He is a defensive end with size and sleeper athleticism. Tapper raises eyebrows at the Combine with 4.59 seconds in his 40 yard dash. His technique is the biggest red flag as he must develop hand techniques but Tapper has enough on the table as far as a skill set and has Pro Bowl potential.
If he’s there in the latter part of the third round, he’s worth the pick.
