Jake Brendel, C, UCLA

Another Offensive Lineman? Yes. With the struggles Atlanta had in the interior of the offensive line last year, the more we bodies we can get in there, the better. Jake Brendel is 6-foot-4 303 pounds and was the starting center for the UCLA Bruins. He was named 2nd team all Pac-12 and started a UCLA record 52 games in his time there. His durability and his size would make him a great asset to get in the 6th round or later.

With Alex Mack coming in this year, you are hoping we won’t be needing a new center to step in for a couple of years. This would allow Brendel to come in and learn from one of the best in the game and be groomed to step in 3-4 years once he has developed more and learned the NFL center position. With the problems Atlanta has faced at center since McClure left, grabbing a project like Brendel late with no hurry to play him, with expectations to groom him and develop him, could help solidify a position that has been one of our biggest weaknesses lately.
