Su’a Cravens, USC

Su’a Cravens is one of the most intriguing prospects in the entire draft class. He’s listed as an outside linebacker but many teams view him as a safety at the next level. Ultimately, he’s just a good football player no matter where he plays.

With his instincts and coverage ability, Cravens would be a good fit in Dan Quinn’s defense. He has the speed Quinn desires on defense, but he doesn’t lack for toughness.

Cravens is a playmaker and he has good ball skills. Given the opportunity, he’ll pick off a quarterback and has the speed to take it to the house. He has nine interceptions to his name over the past three seasons.

Determining where Cravens will be selected in the draft is tough. Some view him as a day two target, while others believe he might fit at the bottom of the first round. If the Falcons can land him in the second round, he would be an instant upgrade. Cravens would either play safety or at linebacker in Atlanta, and he could be equally effective at both.

Maybe he would play a hybrid role and spend time at both positions. Quinn would have the opportunity to get creative with him, which makes Cravens an intriguing prospect.
