Twitter has reacted to the Atlanta Falcons’ second-round selection, Deion Jones.

The Atlanta Falcons picked up a huge asset for their growing defense, selecting Deion Jones out of LSU in the linebacker position. Jones is a great fit for Quinn’s defensive scheme, standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing in at 222 pounds.

Jones had a decent combine, but where he really shined was his pro day, where he ran a 4.38 forty-yard dash time, which is very impressive for a linebacker. Some mock drafts even had Jones going in the first round, meaning that the Falcons got a great value pick with huge upside.

How did Twitter react to the signing?

Very trustworthy source here! If Jeanna says it’s a good pick, then it most likely is.

The Falcons defense was decent in 2015, but they definitely just got better with this pick. There was no clear cut winner in the linebacker core last season, hopefully this year isn’t the same.

Run defense is very coachable, so the fact that he already can cover and react to the ball is great. It’s much harder to teach that.

Indeed. It’s awesome the Falcons were able to trade down and get their guy.

The fact that Jones has size AND can run at blazing speeds it very impressive. This is exactly what Quinn wants.

Those stats are nothing to shake a stick at. Shows that he can play all aspects of the game. The 100 tackles is very impressive, and the 13.5 tackles for loss should be getting Falcons fans very pumped.

Fills a massive need. That is the truest statement I’ve seen thus far.

Not to sound unprofessional, but I couldn’t care less what he was ranked. The NFL is a whole new ballgame, and with Quinn as the head coach, this kid will do fine.

So it would seem the fan base is mostly happy with the pick, as they should be. Here is a few draft grades from analyst:

CBS Sports: A

Bleacher Report: C-

ESPN: (favorable)

Fox: (favorable)

PFF: D

The sports world seems divided, however, critics will always be sceptical of players who haven’t started for more than one season. The bottom line is the kid can play, with pure athletic ability and a great defensive coach at the helm, he will succeed in this league.
