2) Deion Jones – MIKE

Listing a 2016 second-round pick as the Atlanta Falcons’ second-best linebacker is ballsy. But sadly he truly is the Falcons’ second-best option as far as talent and potential goes. Jones will likely take over the Falcons’ starting middle linebacker job as a rookie and that should speak volumes, even on a defense that doesn’t feature a ton of top-tier talent.

Dan Quinn and the Falcons are all about fast, physical play and Jones fits that bill. They wanted a fast linebacker and they sure got one. I guess the Falcons were tired of seeing guys like Luke Kuechly and Lavonte David running around four times a year.

In all honesty, the Falcons have a weak linebacking crew. It’s definitely a work-in-progress, but potential has to count for something. Jones will go through some growing pains as do all rookies but I’m sure you will see some flashes of brilliance at times. He will be fun to watch. That’s for sure.
