Chris Chester vs. Mike Person

The offensive line for the Falcons have been a concern over recent years, even with solid play from former first rounder Jake Matthews and current starter Ryan Schraeder. The team upgraded the center spot with Alex Mack in free agency and it seems Andy Levitre is destined to be the starter at left guard.

At right guard, it’s Chester against Person, who played center in 2015, with mixed results. At times, Person showed well, opening running lanes for Devonta Freeman. However, his woes were plentiful with his poor snapping, which at times placed the team in bad positions and robbed them of momentum. He is probably best suited at guard and in his favor, Chester is coming off shoulder surgery earlier this year. So it seems Person may have an upper hand, right? Right?

Prediction: Chris Chester – Chester is a better all-around blocker than Person of course and all though Person has fared well this offseason, the vet will get the final nod. Person would provide much-needed depth and has value at the guard spot.
