4) Matt Ryan looked awful

Matt Ryan played two series for the Falcons and went 0-for-4. That wasn’t the start Ryan and the rest of the Falcons would have liked, but it’s only the first preseason game.

Ryan attempted two passes on the opening drive from the 1-yard line and bounced a ball to Julio Jones on first down and over shot him on third down.

The Falcons started on the 25-yard line on Ryan’s second series and things didn’t improve. Ryan threw a solid ball to Mohamed Sanu that appeared to be interfered with, but the ball fell incomplete. Ryan then threw a dangerous pass into double coverage intended for Aldrick Robinson to force another three-and-out.

Again, it’s only the first preseason game. But it still sucks to see your franchise quarterback not compete a pass in two series. Let’s hope he bounces back next week.
