2. Julio Jones

Performance salvaged by a Touchdown: Julio Jones (4 catches, 66 receiving yards, 1 receiving touchdown: 12.6 points)

Speaking of players taken with a high fantasy pick, Julio Jones was a surefire first rounder (ranked number 3 overall) in almost every fantasy league this year.

With the high-priced stock which owners invested in Julio this season, many won’t be satisfied with a 12.6 point performance they got from the man who led the league in receiving yards last year.

It could have been a much worse day for Jones’ fantasy owners, however, following a first half which featured just 1 catch for 14 yards for the Alabama product. Jones salvaged the day with a 25-yard 3rd quarter touchdown to start Atlanta’s rally.

Analysis: The main concern with Jones this week is that he aggravated an ankle injury which he picked up the third preseason game. Julio says he’s not worried about the injury – he did come back into the game, but it’s still something worth monitoring over the course of the upcoming week.

Consider Jones a high-end WR1 against a Raiders defense which just got cooked, to the tune of 4 passing touchdowns, against the Saints this week.
