Atlanta Falcons: Arthur Blank, Dann Quinn lead group set to honor military

Members of the Atlanta Falcons coaching and executive staff will visit the Arlington National Cemetery and Walter Reed Medical Center to thank the military

One thing that the entire NFL has done a wonderful job of is honoring the men and women of the United States Military. The Atlanta Falcons are no exception, as they take the time whenever possible to reach out to those who make incredible sacrifices in order to defend our freedoms.

Earlier this year the Falcons head coach, Dan Quinn, was honored by the USAA with a Salute to Service Award for his work in reaching out to military members and their families.

"“Coach Quinn truly embodies the spirit of our Salute to Service Award,” Retired Vice Admiral John Bird, the senior vice president of military affairs for USAA said about the Falcons coach via D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Though he has no direct ties to the military, he’s made it his personal charge to show appreciation for their service and sacrifice. Coach Quinn is a very deserving recipient of this year’s award, and we wish him luck in Super Bowl LI, knowing that he has already made the NFL and the military community very proud.”"

Again the coach is part of a group set to honor members of the armed forces. Quinn, team owner Arthur Blank, general manager Thomas Dimitroff and other members of the team’s executive staff will be visiting the Walter Reed Medical Center and Arlington National Cemetery. Quinn says it’s important to him to make such visits to show his gratitude.

"“The Falcons are what I do, it’s not who I am,” Quinn said  via Matthew Tabeek of AtlantaFalcons.com. “When you see guys, who have made sacrifices or are in pain, I want to let them know our gratitude.”"

Patients at the hospital will receive Falcons’ gear during the trip and the group later plans to visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We here at Blogging Dirty are proud of the team for sending out a big thank you to those who serve, and would like to join them in saying there can never be enough gratitude shown for the sacrifices made by so many.
