Atlanta Falcons: Peyton Manning roasts team at ESPYs

Future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning hosted the 2017 ESPYs and during one monologue he fired shots at the Atlanta Falcons
Former Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is a legendary player and will be a sure fire Hall of Famer one day. Just don’t expect any Atlanta Falcons fans to be voting him in any time soon.
On Wednesday Manning hosted the 2017 ESPY Awards and decided to take some shots, one of which he fired directly at the Atlanta Falcons. A clip from the monologue is below, but you can watch the whole video here.
"“I believe in the Falcons,” Manning said via JuliaKate E. Culpepper of the Atlanta Journal-Constitutional. “I believe in Matt Ryan and Dan Quinn and I know in my heart the Falcons will be back. I wanted the Falcons to hear that from me now, at the beginning of the show, because they’re going to stop paying attention three-quarters of the way in. Because that’s what they seem to do.”"
Manning has always been full of personality and is one of the more marketable players that’s ever been on the football field. For that reason alone it made perfect sense to have him host the award show.
The Falcons weren’t the only ones feeling the sting from Manning as he also burned Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant, who has been widely criticized for joining the Warriors after being unable to beat them in the Western Conference. Manning joked about Durant joining a frontrunner by saying that the U.S. Women’s Gymnastic Team is so good that KD may be joining them soon.

Of course it came out later that a stare down from Durant afterwards was planned out, but that doesn’t make the joke any less funny. As for his one about the Falcons — while it was all in good fun — maybe he can be convinced to return for just one more game to play against the Falcons. It would be nice to give defensive end Vic Beasley, Jr. a chance to return fire.
