Atlanta Falcons: Jalen Collins issues the standard apology after letting his fans and teammates down

After letting down the fans that rooted for him and the team that supported him, Atlanta Falcons cornerback Jalen Collins issued the standard apology Monday
As players who let their team and fans down often do, Atlanta Falcons cornerback Jalen Collins issued the standard apology on Monday from Flowery Branch — the team headquarters for training camp.
Following a ten game suspension — his second in as many years in the NFL — he touched all the bases in terms of saying who he let down, and says he has tried to move past it.
"“So I addressed the team, talked to DQ, everybody knows what’s going on, I know I let a lot of people down. Everybody’s really disappointed, including myself. This is something that I’ve been struggling with and that I’m working on it to put behind me. Just ready to move forward.” — Collins via Vaughn McClure of ESPN"
The problem is he really isn’t trying at all. Even after saying all this Collins refused to admit whether or not this was the same issue that led to his suspension last year. Of course, that’s probably because he said he’s ready to move forward.
It isn’t that easy Jalen. You can say all you want that you’re disappointed in yourself and want to put this in the rear view mirror, but it’s not that simple for a franchise that was counting on you. Failing one test is bad enough, but failing it so many times that the league suspends you for ten games is pathetic.
Players aren’t suspended for a first time offense. They fail tests and become part of a program. For them to get to the ten-game suspension, that shows that no matter what kind of warnings they faced, their behavior never changed.

So maybe Collins feels better after apologizing, and maybe he can move forward. As for the Falcons, they should move forward as well, just without him.
