The Atlanta Falcons signed Kelvin Taylor on Tuesday following a workout with the team, he may see action Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins

The Atlanta Falcons decided to add a little more depth to their running back spot on Tuesday by signing Kelvin Taylor following a workout, the former Florida Gator who has already bounced around the league some. A 2016 sixth-round pick, Taylor has been a part of the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks organizations thus far. He was also a Kansas City Chief for four days as they claimed him earlier in 2017 only to dump him.

Taylor is the son of former NFL running back Fred Taylor, but his real claim to fame has to be the fact that he was the player on the receiving end of the epic Jim McElwain sideline tantrum while with the Gators.

While it will be tough to crack the roster, Taylor apparently will be given every opportunity. Those chances could start just two days after earning a deal with the franchise according to head coach Dan Quinn who said the team may try and get him in on the action in Thursday night’s preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins.

"“(If we) have some plays that we would feel comfortable with him, we’ll let him do it” — Quinn said about Taylor’s potential involement in their preseason game against Miami via JuliaKate E. Culpepper of the Atlanta Journal-Constitutional"

Taylor rushed for 2,108 yards and 23 touchdowns in his collegiate career. He never averaged less than four yards per attempt in a single season and finished with a respectable average of 4.3 yards per carry un his three years.

Those stats are of course easily overlooked by many as they see him as the guy who got blasted by his coach for a silly penalty which arose from a throat-slash gesture following a touchdown run.
