Atlanta Falcons: Who to fear vs Bears
By Randy Gurzi
5. Quintin Demps, FS
The Houston Texans had a great defense in 2016 and one of the more underrated members of that unit was free safety Quintin Demps. He pulled down six interceptions, which was just one shy of the NFL lead.
He’s always been a solid player, but for some reason has bounced around the league. Now with the Bears, he figures to be a factor. If Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan isn’t careful, he can make some big plays in this one.
4. Marcus Cooper, CB
Another free agent pick up for Chicago that went under the radar was former Arizona Cardinals cornerback Marcus Cooper. After three seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, Cooper singed with the Cards and was a solid player with four interceptions. He’s a 6-foot-2 corner that can get in the way and create turnovers. He needs to be accounted for.
3. Leonard Floyd, OLB
Heading into this season feeling healthy and ready to roll is outside linebacker Leonard Floyd. The edge rusher was the ninth overall pick out of Georgia in 2016, Floyd had seven sacks while adjusting to life in the NFL. If the Falcons offensive linemen don’t keep tabs on him, he can make life hard on Matt Ryan.
