Keep up with what’s going on between the Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears in Week 1 of the 2017 NFL Season with this live tracker

The Atlanta Falcons went 11-5 in 2016 and the Chicago Bears were 3-13. Each team looks to start off 2017 trying to erase something. For the Bears it’s simply their terrible record from just a year ago. For Atlanta it’s putting the demons from a Super Bowl loss to bed.

Playing the Bears could be a perfect springboard into a successful season, although they aren’t a pushover — especially considering that quarterback Mike Glennon has had some success against them in the past when playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Mike Glennon is playing well, not pushing it down the field, but playing smart. He isn’t completing to wide receivers, but also isn’t turning the ball over for Chicago.

The Bears defense may be better than expected. They hold the Falcons to a field goal after a strong opening drive. (Third straight season to start this way according to Mike Conti)

After a couple field goals were traded, running back Devonta Freeman gets them in the end zone. 10-3 Falcons at the 6:59 mark in quarter number two.

Tarik Cohen has been a problem, big gains by him led to a game tying touchdown by running back Jordan Howard 10-10 at the half.

MUST READ: Falcons and Bears tied at the half

Corner Brian Poole had a sack to get the Falcons the ball back early in the third.

Akiem Hicks has been a nightmare. Forces another three-and-out for Falcons on their first possession of the second half.

The Falcons took the lead back in the third with a field goal at the 2:10 mark. A big third-down catch and a Bears penalty after a third-down stop aided in the first second half score for Atlanta.

Tight end Austin Hooper opens the game up with a beautiful 88-yard score at the 11:55 mark in the final quarter.

With 3:24 remaining the reliable Matt Bryant again knocks in a field goal. The Falcons go up 23-17.

Brooks Reed ends it with a sack of Glennon after the quarterback threw three passes that could have ended the night with a win for the Bears. Falcons go to 1-0.
