1. Devonta Freeman & Tevin Coleman, RB

It’s a two-for-one here. The imposing duo of Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman at running back was the best thing the Falcons had going for them outside of Matt Ryan and Julio Jones that is. The two backs were a force last year and everyone thought that would continue in 2017.

In the first game, that wasn’t the case at all. Freeman did run in a touchdown, but had just 37 yards on 12 carries. He also struggled in pass protection as one poor attempt at a block led to Ryan having to fire off a pass too early, which of course missed the mark.

Coleman also struggled as a runner going for 16 yards on eight carries. His one saving grace was his 42 yards on four receptions. Freeman didn’t even have that going for him as he brought in just two passes for two yards.

Of course there’s nothing to panic about because this was an opening game, on the road and the Bears played their best possible game. Even with that, Atlanta got the win and is 1-0, which is really what mattered. Moving forward though, it would be nice to see these players step it up some going forward.
