Atlanta Falcons fans, how do you react when your team wins, loses , does something great, or does something not so great in a game?

When Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw his third interception of the game last weekend, I lost it. I was wearing my favorite t-shirt that I have had for years, and it was ripped from my body as if I were Hulk Hogan shredding his iconic yellow tank top.

Before the New England Patriots scored their Super Bowl winning touchdown against the Falcons, I had already left the house to walk our dogs. I did not see the last play of the game. I was in shock couldn’t bare to watch any longer.

When we are winning, I couldn’t be happier.

After a win, I watch the game highlights for the rest of the week, over and over again.

In response to last week’s game ending controversial call change against the Detroit Lions, my wife said I screamed in a way she had never before. She likened my scream to that of a woman screaming. Her description, not mine.

Sports are a fun thing for all of us, and the truth is we all react in different ways. The good and bad reactions can last much longer than we expect — especially the bad.  A loss makes it hard to sleep as we replay the “should have” and “could haves” over and over. A win can make the work week feel like a repetitive walk on cloud-nine.
