The Atlanta Falcons should get Julio Jones back for Week 6, but fellow receiver Mohamed Sanu could miss some action after both were hurt in Week 4.

There was some good news and some bad for the Atlanta Falcons receivers on Monday. During their Week 4 loss to the Buffalo Bills, both starting receivers Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu left the game with injuries.

For Jones it was described as a hip flexor and Sanu was said to have a hamstring injury. Early on Monday morning an update was provided for both — and the news for Jones is encouraging. With Atlanta set to rest up on a bye week, there’s a belief he will be ready to go when the team kicks off their next game at home against the Miami Dolphins.

As for Sanu, the news wasn’t as good as ESPN’s Vaughn McClure tweeted out that he could miss up to three weeks.

Both players were missed by Atlanta who struggled to move the ball at all once they were gone. 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan was unable to find another go-to-guy and they wound up with just 16 points in the game.

Sanu has 16 receptions on the season for 163 yards and a score, but his impact is felt more than just in the numbers. The same could be said of Jones who has 19 receptions for 295 yards through four games.

With both players out of the lineup, the Falcons couldn’t get anyone else open — which highlights how much players like deep threat Taylor Gabriel rely on the veteran duo. Hopefully for Atlanta Sanu will be back on the lower end of the spectrum, which would bring him to the field for the game against the New England Patriots. They will need him to be able to compete with the firepower of the team they lost to in Super Bowl 51.
