After losing a home game to the Buffalo Bills we look at which three Atlanta Falcons should be praised despite the defeat.

No loss is easy to take for an NFL fan base, but a home loss to a team that comes in as an underdog is an especially tough pill to swallow. That’s what happened to the Atlanta Falcons as they lost for the first time in 2017 — during just their second game in the beautiful new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

While the initial reaction after any loss is understandably a lot of doom and gloom thoughts, the Falcons will be just fine. They now sit at 3-1 and the bye came at a perfect time as they suffered some injuries in their defeat.

Wide receiver Julio Jones left the game with a hip injury and was soon followed to the locker room by fellow starter Mohamed Sanu with a hamstring issue. With their top two receivers out, we saw how important they were to the success of the offense as Atlanta couldn’t move the ball nearly as easily as they had in the past.

In the end hats go off to the Bills in this one, and Atlanta can head into the bye week to get some much needed rest and start out fresh against the Miami Dolphins in Week 6. Not all is bad news heading into the week off though, and here we will highlight three players who deserve praise for their play in Week 4.
