New Orleans continued to address their much improved defense by adding cornerback Patrick Robinson and free safety Kurt Coleman in free agency. Robinson was ranked by PFF as the sixth-best cornerback in the league last season, while Coleman totalled 76 tackles last year with divison rival Carolina. The two could replance Delvin Breaux and Kenny Vaccaro, who remain unsigned.

One important thing to note is the Saints’ wide receiver depth. New Orleans currently has two receivers currently unsigned in Brandon Coleman and Willie Snead, and it looks as if they will not be back next season.

New Orleans did sign Chicago wide receiver Cameron Meredith to a two-year offer sheet. The Bears have until Wednesday to match the offer. If they choose not to match the offer, he’ll join Drew Brees and company in New Orleans.

Expect the Saints to address defense in the upcoming draft, specifically the defensive line. New Orleans could use some help to take the pressure off of Cameron Jordan, who has been an outstanding pass rusher for the Saints.

Other mock drafts have the Saints going other directions. New Orleans could be looking at a tight end early or even possibly draft Drew Brees’ replacement.  The Saints are without a second round pick, however. The pick was traded to the 49ers when New Orleans moved up to take Alvin Kamara in the third round of last years’ draft.
