Drafting Devin White in the first round with the 14th overall selection would also follow the trend the Falcons have used in their last couple of draft classes. The Falcons tend to go a different direction than what the public wants/says leading up to the Draft. In 2016 it seemed LB Darron Lee from Ohio State was a lock to go to the Falcons but they ended up passing on Lee and selecting Keanu Neal with the 17th overall selection.

Almost every single mock draft in the world had Lee going to the Falcons. Thankfully the Falcons did not listen to the public and Keanu has been a phenomenal Strong Safety for the Falcons. The draft last year also had the same trend. Almost everyone had the Falcons taking DT Taven Bryan from Florida in mock drafts. The Falcons once again did not listen to the public and selected WR Calvin Ridley from Alabama. This draft pick is looking good for the Falcons as Ridley had 10 receiving touchdowns his rookie year.
