Atlanta Falcons found their next Bill Fralic

The Atlanta Falcons didn’t make the most popular draft choice with the 14th pick this year, however, they made the choice that the organization needed to make. The offensive line has been a weak spot for years; lets welcome Chris Lindstrom to the Brotherhood!

A couple months ago, Blogging Dirty wrote that Atlanta needed to find their next Bill Fralic and now Chris Lindstrom becomes the third guard taken in the first round of the draft by the Atlanta Falcons. Watching how Bill Fralic (1985) turned out to be an All-Pro guard and Lincoln Kennedy (1993) had a good career (just not so much for Atlanta).

Drafting a guard that high has never been the “sexy” pick to make, but the Atlanta Falcons made the right choice by drafting Chris Lindstrom, who was considered to be one of the two best guards coming out of college. For years fans grumbled that Atlanta needed to address the interior offensive line and now they have. In time, this will prove to be a fantastic choice for the Atlanta Falcons organization.

Chris Lindstrom hails from Boston College and should be an instant “plug and play” type lineman at right guard on the offensive line. Whatever the case may be, the offensive line just got a lot better and that’s what everyone has been asking for.

We all know that the game of football is won or lost “in the trenches” and we’ve asked for years to draft our next all-pro guard and I am very ecstatic about the selection of Chris Lindstrom. There is little doubt that he will have tremendous success for the Atlanta Falcons. Either way, Matt Ryan should be very happy with better protection up front and we have finally gotten exactly what we have been asking for.
