Anyone that has watched at least one season of NFL football knows that injuries are inevitable. Every Atlanta Falcons fan knows that some years, teams get hit harder than the average NFL team.

Regardless of where you get your Atlanta Falcons news, the common theme among all articles is that this team is primed and ready for another Super Bowl run. What some may agree or disagree with is this franchise has knocked on the door for the last several years.

In 2017, a goal line loss to the eventual Super Bowl champions due to some really bad and transparent coaching decisions kept them from the ultimate goal. In 2018, injuries plagued the franchise like the ten plagues that devastated Egypt in biblical times.

That said, it would be naive to think this franchise won’t have an injury or several; it’s part of the game. The silver lining in all of this, was 2018 really provided better context and opened the eyes to the front what fans have asked for all along – more quality depth. The Eagles made a Super Bowl run with a backup quarterback. The LA Rams made a Super Bowl run largely without the services of their MVP caliber running back – because they had quality depth.

Thomas Dimitroff and Dan Quinn have done an excellent job of adding quality depth at all the positions of need. While they may not be household names, nearly every player that has been added to this roster has the talent to add something valuable to the brotherhood.

While the depth has improved, there are several starters on both sides of the ball that can be lost to injury and the Falcons should still be able to find themselves in Miami come February 2020.
