The Atlanta Falcons traded back into the first round and selected offensive tackle Kaleb McGary with the thirty-first overall selection. Last year the Patriots selected HB Sony Michel from Georgia with the thirty-first pick. Michel was a popular name coming out of college and since he was a running back his rating was higher than several players taken in front of him.

For the Madden 19 launch ratings Sony Michel’s rating was a 77 overall. McGary will likely not have that high of a rating, as he was not as popular as Michel coming out of college. For Madden 20 McGary will be a 74 or 73 overall. Based upon the new rating system and lack of popularity for the offensive line this will likely be the rating for him.

After the first round the round the ratings become much more difficult to predict. Any player selected on day three of the draft will likely be less than a 70 overall unless they were really popular in college.

With the 111th overall selection the Atlanta Falcons selected CB Kendall Sheffield from Ohio State. Sheffield’s rating will be interesting as he was regarded as one of the fastest players in all of college football. His speed rating in the game will be above a 95 but his overall is going to be around a 66-67 or a 56-57 overall.

In the 2018 NFL Draft the Rams selected C Brian Allen with the 111th overall selection. In Madden 19 Allen’s launch rating was a 66 overall. Sheffield’s rating should be a 66 overall based on last years rating but because of the new system his rating could end up being a 56-57 overall instead.
