Oliver will be Atlanta Falcons break out star in 2019

Big, fast, ball hawk. Those are the descriptors used to describe Atlanta Falcons corner Isaiah Oliver when he was just a prospect out of Colorado.

Coincidentally, those are also the same traits Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn looks for in his corner’s. The Falcons released their first unofficial depth chart this weekend and Oliver is listed as the starter opposite of Desmond Trufant and with that come a lot of expectations.

Dan Quinn has always been positive, and the players love that about him. Fans and media question whether it is always sincere. Quinn has talked a few times during the first week of camp how much Oliver has grown over the off seasons and they are looking for him to take the next step forward.

The secondary has been the group with the most questions and it seems that Oliver has answered the question regarding who would line up opposite of Trufant and occupy the spot that was vacated by the departure of Robert Alford.

Oliver didn’t have a bad rookie year, he just did not have the impact that many were hoping for given the fact that he was second round draft pick. He showed flashes of being able to be a starting corner in the league and at other times looked completely lost.

Dan Quinn taking over the defense and studying the film that he has on each player, has allowed him to develop a scheme that will allow for the Falcons to exploit their team strengths and minimize their weaknesses, which will help a young player like Oliver from both a confidence perspective and on the field production prospective.

Not only does Oliver possess the size, speed and IQ to be a top corner for the Atlanta Falcons, but he seems to believe that he belongs on this level and 2019 should be a beak out year for the second year corner.
