Brian Hill has proven so far this summer that he will be a valuable piece to the Atlanta Falcons run game this season.

Brian Hill came on strong last season for the Atlanta Falcons when given the opportunity. He rushed for 115 yards on eight carries against the Carolina Panthers. The following week he rushed for 30 yards on eight carries against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This season, Hill could see more opportunities come his way given his recent success over the summer that has now leaked into pre-season play.

According to Michael Hebert of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Hill impressed head coach Dan Quinn, along with many others during training camp. He showed improvement in many areas and his determination to get better and see more playtime were some of the aspects of Hill’s game that helped him stand out during training camp.

Through two preseason games, Hill has tallied two touchdowns, one through the air against the Denver Broncos and the other on the ground against the Miami Dolphins. Yes, it is only pre-season, but for a guy like Hill, who is still trying to prove himself, as well as ensure a spot on the roster, his performance so far has been great given the limited carries.

With a core of young backs behind Devonta Freeman, the Atlanta Falcons should feel confident in the production at the running back position in 2019. If Hill continues to show improvement during the pre-season, he could end up being an important piece to the offense.

If anything should happen to Devonta Freeman or Ito Smith, Hill will more than likely be next in line to take the majority of the carries. His improvement and desire to get better is a great sign that Hill could be something special for the Atlanta Falcons this season.
