Week three of the Atlanta Falcons preseason is here. While it is weird for them to play all of their games on Thursday nights, at least it gives us football sooner than later.

The Atlanta Falcons have been all over the place this preseason in terms of players that have logged significant playing time, last minute lineup changes, young players making great plays and undisciplined play that has led to 24 penalties for nearly 200 yards.

Between the good and the bad, the first two weeks of the preseason have been a success. The Falcons also managed to flip a fourth string tight-end for a conditional draft pick, which more than likely will make room for the Falcons to carry at least four running-backs.

This week, the Falcons welcome the Jets into Mercedes Benz Stadium for their first time in front of the home crowd. The Jets have some good young talent that will play extended minutes and will be a great test for some of the players that have stuck out over the last couple of weeks.

Sam Darnold is one of the young up and coming quarterbacks in the NFL and the Falcons young secondary like Jordan Miller, Isaiah Oliver and Kendall Sheffield will have an opportunity to make plays against a young Jets wide receiving core that should help build their confidence.

Providing Le’Veon Bell plays, that match up versus the Falcons young linebackers will go a long way in teaching them how to play disciplined football on the defensive side of the ball. We all know that Bell makes players pay for just the smallest mistakes.

As we enter the Falcons third preseason game, here are players to watch on both sides of the ball.
