7. 2010 Season

The 2010 season is the first season the Falcons were put on the map with Matt Ryan. The Atlanta Falcons had a phenomenal year finishing with a 13-3 record and having home-field advantage in the NFC. Ryan was elected to his first Pro Bowl and had 3,705 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, 9 interceptions, and a 91.0 passer rating.

Unfortunately for the Falcons, they ran into a red-hot Green Bay Packers team led by Aaron Rodgers who went on to win the Super Bowl. This was a special season for the Falcons because this was the first time the fans started to get excited about the team in a long time.

6. 2011 Season

The 2011 season was a weird season for the Atlanta Falcons. They were a good team making the playoffs at 10-6 clinching a wildcard spot. The biggest issue with the Falcons was consistency during this season. Matt Ryan had a great season with 4,177 passing yards, 29 passing touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and a 92.2 passer rating.

At times during this season, Matt Ryan looked like an MVP candidate and the Falcons offense looked dangerous. The offensive line play slowed the offense down and they could not beat good teams during this season.

The biggest positive from this season was the emergence of Julio Jones. As a rookie, he was electric and completed the Falcons offense with Roddy White, Tony Gonzalez, and Michael Turner.

5. 2017 Season

Matt Ryan did not have the eye-popping stats during the 2017 season but was still solid in his level of play. Pro Football Focus even had Matt Ryan as the number two quarterback that season. Drops from wide receivers and terrible play-calling from Sarkisian led to his dip in production.

The Falcons ended up going 10-6 and clinched the last remaining Wildcard spot. On the year Matt Ryan had 4,095 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and a 91.4 passer rating.

The biggest positive from this season was beating the Los Angeles Rams in the Wildcard round. This marked the first time in franchise history the Falcons won playoff games in back-to-back seasons.

4. 2014 Season

The NFC South had a weird year during the 2014 season. At week 17 the Falcons were 6-9 with a chance to go to the playoffs. The team played horribly and got blasted by the Panthers who won the division at 7-8-1.

Despite the team play, Matt Ryan was elected to the Pro Bowl. On the year he finished with 4,694 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, and a 93.9 passer rating.

The best part about the 2014 season was the play of Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. Both had fantastic seasons and were key building blocks for the team moving forward, as Mike Smith was fired after the season.
