Atlanta Falcons earned a hard fought win against the Eagles

This game might have been too close for comfort for most Atlanta Falcons fans but in the end, the Dirty Birds came out with the win.

This game against the Eagles and last week’s games against the Vikings couldn’t have been more different for the Atlanta Falcons. The defense looked more ferocious and when the offense seemed it was sputtering, they stepped up to the plate.

The defensive line kinda did what they wanted to all night. They were able to sack Carson Wentz three times and forced him to throw two interceptions, both to Desmond Trufant.

In terms of the run defense, they didn’t let Philly get started at all holding the team to only 49 rushing yards. There was good tackling throughout the game. There were some rough spots especially towards the end of the game.

After a crucial Vic Beasley sack, Wentz threw up prayers and it came down in the hands-on Nelson Aguilar, a moment that probably caused a few migraines, but in the end, the defense stepped up and prevented the Eagles from scoring.

On the offensive side, Matt Ryan seemed more aggressive going down the field with the ball which no one should have an issue with but the three interceptions had a few of us concerned.

Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley had big games receiving but there is still one glaring issue which could hold the Falcons offense back.

The running game is still nonexistent and in order for this offense to flourish, the running game has to show up every game, though that starts with Dirk Koetter. They were blitzing Matt Ryan all night and they could because the Falcons couldn’t punish them by running the ball.

Needless to say, there are happy Falcons fans tonight after a hard-fought win. The Falcons should take this hard-earned win and build on it for next week when they head to Indianapolis to face the Colts.
