Atlanta Falcons are ideal landing spot for Jalen Ramsey

The Atlanta Falcons would make the ideal trade partner with the Jacksonville Jaguars for the services of defensive back Jalen Ramsey.

When most franchises have a player like Jalen Ramsey wanting out, they typically do not want to ship them to someone they could potentially face in the playoffs, which makes the other conference an ideal landing spot. While the Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons will, in fact, play this year, being in different conferences would make Atlanta calling intriguing to the Jaguars.

The Miami Dolphins shipped Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Steelers this evening for a 2020 first-round pick, which means the price for Ramsey would be quite more and Atlanta can afford to trade for a high price corner.

The trade package would have to have a couple components; picks and current players.

The Atlanta Falcons could offer Desmond Trufant and their 2020 first round and a 2021 third-round pick for Ramsey.

Not only would this bring Atlanta’s first true lockdown corner since Deion Sanders walked back in the early ’90s and would help to solidify a secondary that has had issues for years.

As good as Desmond Trufant was the final 12 games in 2018 and the fantastic start he has had in 2019, he isn’t as young nor as talented as Jalen Ramsey is. Yes, he has had a few issues in Jacksonville, but we all know what a stable franchise with a veteran presence can have on players that seem to have issues elsewhere and it’s amazing what playing for a winner can do for an attitude.

Trading for Jalen Ramsey makes sense for the Falcons, the Jaguars and Ramsey himself. While it is not a call Thomas Dimitroff will make, he should if he is serious about the Falcons winning a Super Bowl in the near future.
