Barstool’s Big Cat bets his finger on the Atlanta Falcons

Earlier this week on the popular Pardon My Take podcast, Dan Katz is also known as Big Cat; made a pinky finger bet that the Atlanta Falcons would not win the Super Bowl.

If the Atlanta Falcons win the Super Bowl, just the tip of his pinky will come off not the whole finger.

On the Pardon My Take podcast they like to put a “Done Chain” on teams they think have no shot at winning the Super Bowl or making the playoffs. Big Cat has started to make a pinky bet on a team he has given the done chain to.

Last season he made a pinky bet against the Houston Texans after a 0-3 start. The Texans would go on to win nine straight games and win the AFC South with an 11-5 record. The Texans ultimately did not make it to the Super Bowl but still turned their season around after an 0-3 start.

The Atlanta Falcons currently have a 1-2 record and Big Cat has given them the Done Chain. Unfortunately, he should have done more research before making the bet. The Atlanta Falcons upcoming schedule is much easier and there are still fourteen weeks left of the season.

The rest of the Falcons schedule are all winnable games. The toughest remaining games on the schedule are the Texans, Rams, and Saints. On the road against the Texans might be the last hiccup the Falcons have for the rest of the season.

During the 2016 season after a terrible week one loss to the Buccaneers, the Falcons went on the road to upset a good Oakland Raiders team. The Raiders went 12-4 that season and they played them before Derek Carr was hurt.

The Falcons also match up well to the Rams and Saints. During the 2017 playoffs, the Falcons beat the Rams on the road as Atlanta was the last NFC team to beat Sean McVay led Rams in the playoffs. Against the Saints, the Falcons defense plays well when Deion Jones is on the field. When Brees does not have the option to check it down to Kamara, their offensive struggles.

After the first three weeks of the season, the Atlanta Falcons still have a long way to go in order to win the Super Bowl. However, they are lucky as the division is looking weak right now. The Saints currently lead the division at 2-1 but without Brees, they are likely going to drop some games.

The Falcons have also proven they can beat undefeated teams. During the 2015 season, the Falcons upset the 14-0 Carolina Panthers led by Julio Jones. In 2007 we saw the Giants upset the 16-0 Patriots in the Super Bowl. Could we see a similar situation this season? The 9-7 Atlanta Falcons upsetting the 16-0 Patriots would be a great storyline.

Big Cat had a problem betting on the Falcons. Now that he is betting against them will their luck finally turn around?
