Atlanta Falcons should name Raheem Morris to replace Dan Quinn

What else do the Atlanta Falcons need to see? A change is needed and it is needed now.

Sure, this may sound extreme but the Atlanta Falcons are now 1-3 after losing to the Titans 24-10. For the fourth straight week, the team has looked unprepared and ill-equipped against teams they should be beating.

Maybe we think too highly of the talent on this roster or maybe the coaches are just that bad.

The Falcons had a strong start to the game forcing the Titans to go three and out on their first possession and then the defense proceeded to give up 24 points before half time. A defense that Dan Quinn is in charge of, has looked terrible for all but five quarters on the year and has never looked like they were prepared to play any of their first four opponents.

As we said last week, it is time for a change. The problem then becomes who takes over for the remaining 12 games.

When looking on this coaching staff, no one wants to see Dirk Koetter or Mike Mularkey take over as the interim, they would be worse than what Dan Quinn currently brings to the table. That leaves Raheem Morris.

Like Koetter, Morris is a former Tampa head coach. He is also young enough to bring new concepts to a team that would need a big change in everything – scheme, attitude, discipline.

No one is saying that Morris turns this ship around and they become the team that their talent dictates that they should be, however, a new message and change in leadership and direction is needed and he would be 180 degree difference in all of that than Dan Quinn.

Change is never easy, but Raheem Morris is the change that needs to happen before the Falcons come back to work Wednesday to prepare for Deshaun Watson and the Texans.
