Eric Bienemy is exactly who the Atlanta Falcons need
By Jeremy Riggs
Some may be wary of the idea of bringing in Eric Bieniemy. Some may think he’s simply Andy Reid’s puppet, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, Bieniemy helps with the weekly preparation and game planning, runs the offensive meetings, and is even the voice in Patrick Mahomes’ headset on game day, according to Adam Teicher from ESPN.
Andy Reid speaks very highly of Bieniemy and so does Patrick Mahomes.
If there’s something that Andy Reid does, it’s prepare guys to become signal-callers in the NFL. In fact, 6 current head coaches, John Harbaugh, Ron Rivera, Sean McDermott, Pat Shurmur, Doug Pederson and Matt Nagy were assistants at one point for Andy Reid, and former head coaches Brad Childress, Steve Spagnuolo, and Todd Bowles were as well.
Some turned out better than others, but none of them have been terrible. And i’d wager that Bieniemy has had the most impressive assistant resume based off of 2018 and this year with the emergence of Mahomes alone. But beyond that, his running back coaching resume has been impressive as well.
Bundle that with knowing that he is at least somewhat responsible with the game-planning for this high powered Chiefs offense of today, and you have a real reason to want this guy to be the coach of the Atlanta Falcons.
