Minor details matter and the Atlanta Falcons don’t seem to care

Details matter and the 2019 version of the Atlanta Falcons lack the ability to focus on details.

Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback and current radio analyst Dave Archer stated on the Atlanta Falcons radio network that the “minor details allow the big things to happen”. This is not true just true in football, it is true in life.

The entire Falcons organization lacks the ability to focus on the minor details that it takes to be great. Minor details such as hand placement, a proper reading of a defense, clock management, and communication.

Somehow a group of professional athletes has forgotten just how important the minor details are. The ability to succeed in the minor details is how they all got to where they are in life. You don’t become an athlete by doing the bare minimum in life and you don’t become a success by only doing well on the big things.

As Dave Archer stated, big things are not possible unless you take care of the smaller things.

It is almost comical to reflect on thinking this team was capable of elite greatness, we saw in the preseason that they were not but we ignored all the signs because it was preseason. I know I keep harping on this preseason thing, but when you are not doing the little things when it does not matter, why would you do them when it matters the most?

Head coach Dan Quinn is not a stupid man, he understands all of this as do all of the players. During the media rounds this week, players like Matt Ryan and Grady Jarrett have expressed befuddlement in their great weeks of practice not translating on the field.

Next. Falcons defense isn’t good. dark

Have they watched the film? The answer is literally in front of them. The Falcons are the worst team in penalties per game and among the bottom three in missed tackles. The minor details matter and when you don’t do them you find yourselves in place you never wanted be; 1-3.
