Atlanta Falcons defense has hit rock bottom

Half of the Atlanta Falcons offense decided to show up still put up 32 points which should be enough to win any game if the defense does its job. In today’s case against the Texans, the defense didn’t do its job.

Deshaun Watson has a field day in the air against the Atlanta Falcons secondary, made some plays on the ground and didn’t get sacked one time playing behind one of the worst offensive lines so far this season.

The Falcons couldn’t get to Watson not one time not to mention it was Will Fuller V and not Deandre Hopkins who did what he wants today. There was not a single defensive highlight today for the Falcons.

It’s come to a point now where the city is pretty much done with Dan Quinn and people clearly want him to go. Knowing the Falcons front office, they probably won’t make a move this season unless all other options have been exhausted.

It’s clear Quinn can’t handle being both the head coach and defensive coordinator. He needs to go out and find someone who can’t motivate this defense to make plays and put them in a position to give some help to this offense because losing this way is unacceptable.

As a former Super Bowl-winning defensive coordinator, Quinn has hit rock bottom in terms of his coaching. Adding a defensive coordinator who can help this team may delay his firing but Quinn losing his job seems inevitable at this point.

You can’t rebuild a team let alone a defense in the middle of the season without moving players around and with the Falcons not having much to offer another team to bring in defensive talent, coaching is the next and easiest way to go.

Next. Falcons should leave Dan Quinn in Houston. dark

We will see if Dan Quinn can get out of his own way and get some help on the coaching staff to handle the defense, but if he doesn’t it’s going to be a long season for him if he even lasts that long.
