Should the Atlanta Falcons tank the rest of the season?

The Atlanta Falcons are the most disappointing team in the NFL thus far. For a team with this much talent, there is no reason why they should be 1-5.

The Atlanta Falcons have the same record as teams like the Washington Redskins and the New York Jets. Even the Oakland Raiders, a team many thought would win no more than four or five games especially after the Antonio Brown situation have a better record at this point than the Falcons.

We are almost to the halfway point in the season and things don’t look like their getting better as quick as the Atlanta Falcons would like. If the Falcons don’t start to play better, should they start tanking?

To the average fan, of course, the Falcons should tank.

They should tank themselves into the top five and draft their future “franchise” quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and he’s going to come in and win us all the Super Bowl rings….sorry fans it doesn’t work like that. Also, he will be a bust. Feel free to save this post.

If we’re being honest, there’s no way the Falcons should tank. Even if playoff chances are slim to none, the Falcons need to prove to a fan base that they haven’t given up on the season because it hasn’t gone the way everyone expected.

If the Atlanta Falcons don’t make the playoffs like everyone currently expects, they will still get a good draft pick at least a top 10 pick they can use to address REAL ISSUES with the team.

The defense still needs work and luckily for the Falcons, there are a lot of defensive studs coming out this year from Chase Young, Grant Delpit, Trevon Diggs, Derrick Brown, and Isaiah Simmons. Even if they end up outside the top 10 there will still be players available to draft that could come in and help this team out.

Besides, you don’t tank with a team that already has their franchise quarterback, a top-three receiver among other things and this definitely isn’t a rebuild. If we’re being honest, if this team was coached better the Falcons could be 4-2 or 5-1.

Falcon fans should want to see how this team reacts to such a horrible start and not lose on purpose just to take a chance at picking a player who COULD come in and turn this team around.

Teams like the Bengals and the Dolphins wish they had a team as talented as ours. As a fan, it sucks to see your team perform so bad so why would you encourage a talented team to do so?

Next. Falcons and Packers should start trade talks. dark

If by chance the Falcons start winning, this could be a 5-5 team with a better shot to get in as a wild card in about a month. If not, they will still have a high enough draft pick to take a player this team needs to address a real issue, not the fictitious quarterback issue some seem to think exists.
