Round 2 Pick 4: OG Solomon Kindley

The first surprise in this mock draft is the Atlanta Falcons selecting Georgia offensive guard Solomon Kindley. This would be a luxury pick but the Falcons need to find another guard.

Last season, the Falcons selected two offensive linemen in the first round, guard Chris Lindstrom and tackle Kaleb McGary. Lindstrom was injured in the first game against Minnesota and is currently on injured reserve. He will be back at some point this season.

Replacing Lindstrom has been Jamon Brown who the Falcons picked up during the offseason. The other guard the Falcons picked up in the offseason is James Carpenter who has been decent as the starting left guard this season.

Brown and Carpenter are serviceable guards short term for the Falcons. However, injuries keep hurting the Atlanta Falcons and they need to have depth at every position. Solomon Kindley makes the offensive line even younger and hopefully provide consistency for Matt Ryan.

Matt Ryan has not had consistency on the offensive line since the 2016 season when they made a Super Bowl appearance. If the Falcons want Matt Ryan to play into his forties like Tom Brady and Drew Brees, they need to invest in their offensive line.

Solomon Kindley is a beast for Georgia at 6’4 weighing 335 pounds. UGA fans will be happy the Falcons finally drafted one of their players. Kindley will provide stability at left guard for years. If Lindstrom and McGary turn into solid players, the Atlanta Falcons will have one of the best offensive lines in the league in a few years with the addition of Kindley.
