Matt Ryan should be shut down until he’s 100 percent

With everything that has gone wrong the Atlanta Falcons, this one bites the dust. This time its quarterback Matt Ryan.

CBS Sports is reporting that Matt Ryan could miss games, he could miss one to two weeks due to the ankle sprain he suffered in a loss against the Rams.

The Atlanta Falcons front office and coaching should use whatever common they have left and not play him against the Seattle Seahawks.

A big part of the reason why Ryan has been able to put up the numbers he has is that he’s been able to move around the pocket and avoid pass rushers to the best of his ability.

If he were to play against the Seahawks, not only would he not be at full strength but could also risk being injured even more.

We have already seen something similar to this with the injury to Patrick Mahomes. There’s no need for the Falcons to put Ryan in especially given they are 1-6 and practically eliminated from the playoffs barring some type of miracle.

Matt Schaub was able to come in and throw for the only touchdown the Falcons had against the Rams during garbage time. Schaub is not going to come in and save the day and win out causing a quarterback controversy.

The Falcons need to play it safe and not put Ryan in any danger we and protect their franchise investment. Even if he available to go, unless he is pain-free and 100 percent which is very unlikely, Ryan should not be on that field especially against a very dangerous Seattle team with defenders like Jadeveon Clowney and Bobby Wagner, two of the most ferocious hitters in the game.

With everything that has happened to the Falcons this year, this injury to Matt Ryan is literally and insult to injury. What makes it even worse is the fact that if the Falcons had somewhat of a respectable offensive line, this injury would not have taken place.

Just when you think things can’t get as bad as they are now, this happens. Someone must get rid of the black cat following this franchise.
